mijn idee voor kansen voor nieuwe technologieën voor ontwikkelingssamenwerking:
| Any sustainable and prosperous society relies on the principles of respect, tolerance and participation of every citizen. This largely depends on the extent of how human rights are preserved and put into practice within a community. In order to stop human rights violations, education is often considered one of the most effective means especially in an age when
communication is made so easy. By providing laptops that run on solar energy with internet access, every member of our global community can learn and get access to basic education. Many that never had access before could learn subjects like languages but also gain knowledge in any possible field which in the near future would allow them to improve their performance at school or work.
Koenders has announced that he wants to invest more in the private sector in developing countries. Investing in cheap laptops is a way to do this. Children need to have ICT-skills, because without these skills it will be difficult for them to compete with those educated in industrialized nations. Koenders can begin a campaign to encourage related companies and individuals in the Netherlands to assist this project which would concentrate on ICT.

mijn idee om mensen te mobiliseren voor bovenstaande aanbeveling:
My endeavor now is to focus on increasing the knowledge about the XO laptop, so the Dutch business community and NGOs find our project more attractive and as an opportunity for their development as well. This will position the project to a high level status. Also, I want to organize debates with MPs, entrepreneurs and business people in general to discuss about the advantages and multiple benefits that has the implementation of a project like this.

mijn persoonlijke motto:
Mandela: ‘Like slavery and apartheid, poverty is not natural. It is man-made and it can be overcome and eradicated by the actions of human beings. And overcoming poverty is not a gesture of charity. It is an act of justice. It is the protection of a fundamental human right, the right to dignity and a decent life.‘
